Mission Statement
The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower embodies the belief that personal style is a reflection of behavior, self-confidence and individuality. Through this publication I hope to inspire intellect, encourage curiosity and engage readers in an appreciation for quality through fashion, beauty, literature, the arts and other elements of a casually elegant lifestyle.
My values on fashion
It is my belief that well-made, beautiful clothes and accessories are attainable for every shape, every size and every budget. I stand by names that I trust not for their status in the industry, but for the quality and originality reflected in their products. I will always endeavor to establish my wardrobe with timeless pieces that will endure rather than trend-driven fashion dictated by the season. I believe all artisans in the business of manufacturing fashion should be regarded fairly from compensation to work hours and environment. Through my related partnerships I hope to encourage a new generation of fashion lovers to take a renewed look at the standards they set for the clothes and accessories they wear as well as the brands they choose to support.
Disclosure Policy
According to the FTC guidelines all bloggers must disclose relationships with brands wherein cash payment or material compensation are exchanged for written articles, links, etc. The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower proudly contributes to the blogger-brand relationship and occasionally receives compensation for written features (also called “sponsored posts” or “advertorials”). The basic subject of an advertorial is supplied by the advertiser, but the creative copy is always imagined by me, with the same voice and integrity that readers have come to know on the blog, and all companies are considered and approved of before the article is written. The blog also accepts and displays banner advertisements for cash payment, which is put back into the maintenance of the blog’s expenses, including web hosting, domain registration, design and giveaways. Products are supplied to me without charge – most notably books – in exchange for my review. I am never persuaded to share a positive review and I will not share a book I did not thoroughly enjoy. All books and other products are well-researched and considered before being accepted for review. The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower is also a qualified and approved media outlet for the Public Broadcasting Service (PBS), which allows me the opportunity to pre-screen programming for review on the blog; I am in no way compensated by PBS for such reviews.
