These gorgeous illustrations of Downton Abbey star and all-across British beauty Michelle Dockery have been spreading around the internet like wildfire recently, and they absolutely had to have a place on my little blog. David Downton is one of my favorite fashion illustrators so to see the leading lady from one of my favorite television shows under the skill of his artistry is such a joy. In his illustrations Michelle is wearing Givenchy, Balenciaga, and Oscar de la Renta, respectively. There’s a great piece written by Laura Jacobs for Vanity Fair that captures the mood of Michelle’s sitting. What more could a girl want than to be immortalized by one of the industry’s greatest artists in so many fabulous dresses? I really wish these were available as prints for purchase because I’d be coveting them like crazy.
Speaking of the televised Downton…it’s back! I’m loving the third season so far – and I’m realizing how much I’ve missed these sojourns into the social drama of that fabulous English country estate and its brood of beautiful inhabitants. Are you watching?

Ohhh, thanks for sharing these! I agree, what beautiful wall art they’d make!
Glad you’re enjoying this Season
i’m so glad for this post! I saw the illustration on Pinterest of Michelle in the black & white Oscar dress and then forgot to track down its source. I knew it had to be (David) Downton or else a very good imitation of his work, so thank you for doing the leg-work for me
these are absolutely gorgeous. his last name alone means he was meant to create these pieces! wish they were available as prints as well.
Oh yes, I saw these in Vanity Fair- they’re gorgeous! I also wish they were selling them as prints. I am watching this third season and I felt the same way- I didn’t realize how very much I missed it until it was back and I was swept up into the whole story again!
The illustrations are very nice, I think she’s so stunning anyway! Dockery’s character and Lady Grantham are my favourites then I find myself adoring all of the others with new scenes! Of course, me and period costumes, I am in love with them since the beginning. Hope you’re doing well!
Oh Cassee these are amazing.
Brilliant post, and wonderful you.
