Styling the Studded Shoe Trend for Fall with Barratts

September 4, 2012 · 6 comments

As we’re looking forward to a new season we’re also turning our focus toward yet another new crop of trends in fashion. An interesting one to come off the runway was studs; to some an essential must-have, to others a bold new excursion. The fun thing about studs is that everyone can wear them; they transcend style stereotypes and offer adaptability. Studded shoes are a fantastic way to introduce the trend to your wardrobe, and Barratts has a selection that perfectly explores their versatility. Here are a few ways to rock stylish studs this fall.

Flats are the safe shoes, simple and feminine, so they’re a great way to experiment with the stud trend if you’re not keen on getting too adventurous. Pairing them with skinny jeans and a scarf are classic, but experimenting with bold tops will pick up on the edginess of the studs.

Alternatively, studded boots might be the most extreme a girl can get in the trend. I like the idea of playing up the minimalist, romantic look to contrast the harshness of the boots, so an informal sweater dress could be a good choice. Add in some details that will discreetly play up the bold footwear, like statement jewelry or a chain strap bag.

A peep-toe shoe boot is an incredibly fun way to play with the stud trend because the shape maintains a classic sort of femininity; the studs take on a bit of elegance thanks to it. That gives you the opportunity to add the adventurous studs to a decidedly feminine outfit without feeling like you’re clashing the elements.

Studded pumps don’t make as big of a statement as the different varieties of boots, but they’re still a bolder choice than flats. Given that middle-of-the-road freedom, you could really take them anywhere. I love the idea of pairing them with other accessories in on-trend elements that have become classic, like fringe and snakeskin.

If you’re looking to experiment with the trend this year hopefully these ideas will get you started. If studs are a must-have for you, let me know your styling tips!

These outfits you put together are gorgeous! I have loved studs for a while, and yet I don’t think I have anything like it in my closet…yet. I also love the look of a few studs on the collar of a feminine blouse, you know? It creates such a fabulous, balanced style.
