Lily Collins for Tatler, June 2011 | Photographed by Robert Erdmann | Styled by Anna Bromilow
Though it hit newstands over a year ago, I missed the lovely spread in June 2011′s Tatler where Lily Collins captures Audrey Hepburn in both style and spirit; consider me late to the party just like I was with Kate Winslet as Elizabeth Taylor for V Magazine. Anyway, I’m charmed by these so I had to share them. I love that they have so many hallmarks of Audrey’s style – the infamous Roman Holiday bike shot, and even a cameo by Famous (so cute) – and yet they don’t feel redundant as so many other depictions of Audrey have felt. Lily has such a natural bubbliness to her here. A new-age Audrey, eyebrows and all.

These shots also came to me at the appropriate time because I’m so over summer. I think this happens; the September issues come out (how ’bout that Vogue, jeez louise) and Fashion Week excitement is in the air. Labor Day is on the horizon in the US and all the best bits about autumn strike into our thoughts. I was recently saying that mentally I’ve jumped ahead, mentally I’m in fall already. Scarves and cardigans and Pumpkin Spice Lattes. It’s my favorite time of the year and if I’m not careful I’ll start piling on the layers before I walk outside and realize that it’s still eighty degrees. I needed to reinvigorate myself for the dog days of summer – I think living in these photos for a bit would definitely help.

She is truly darling! She SO reminds me of her. So pretty and classy.
Oh my, this is gorgeous. I didn’t know these existed either! (I didn’t know, actually, that Lily Collins was popular even a year ago!)
Honestly, I think I’m down for a WEEK of winter next week, and then summer again. I LIVE for summer, but I need to feel that excitement over it again, y’know?

How darling is she? I feel like she could be Audrey’s sister. That first photo of her is just beautiful!
I’m right there with you about being over Summer. In fact, I mentioned it on my post today too! I’m seriously dying to wear scarves and cardigans. *sigh*
