In June when I wrote about creating a summer resolutions list one of the points I made was a desire to change my perspective by changing my view (“I think the things you see most often during the day – what you look at when you first wake up, the things that catch your eye when you’re loading on your jewelry – they can all affect your outlook, and maybe even your attitude.”). I’ve changed my view and my perspective both since then, multiple times, and one of those efforts was a spontaneous little project: a quote photo! I was fiddling with some snippets I had for my inspiration boards, and I realized there were some easy and creative ways to showcase favorite quotes, scriptures or passages. I printed out a quote from Henry David Thoreau (see also Remembering Henry David Thoreau and Snippets of Walden on Literary Inklings) and used a magazine clipping (Stella McCartney’s garden) as the background. I decided to go about it unconventionally, with the quote and photo going in opposite directions, and I think it turned out to be rather fun. It’s an easy project to switch up with a new quote and photo every time you feel like you need a new dose of inspiration.
So, something to think about: if you crafted a little makeshift photo of daily inspiration what words would you like to see every day?

So simple and lovely. FABULOUS! Well done darling.
I LOVE this idea. I’ll totally be using your idea…
Oh, this is brilliant!
This is awesome!!! I’ve never thought of putting inspiration boards/inspiring quotes in a picture frame – it makes it look so much more elegant!

This is adorable, I’m definitely going to try this when my boyfriend and I end up moving.

This is a super cute idea! You know, something you’d love is wintergreen oil transfer. Here’s a link on how to do it. I’m going to be sharing it on my blog when I get back to RI.
Such a cute and neat idea! Definitely going to try something similar to this. I’m in a new apt and I’m still trying to figure out how to decorate it. It’s homie and reflective of my neighbor (kinda artsy and full of culture) so I don’t want it to be too streamline. this would totally work!
