It’s time for another FTFCommunity blog event, as hosted by Kristy ElĂ©na of Full Time Fabulous! If you missed the first one you can read all about what the community is and how to get involved at my April 6th event post. This month’s theme was spring. For this event I really wanted to challenge myself to create something off of the computer and I knew I wanted to incorporate a crabapple tree in my backyard which over the past few days has been flaunting its pink flowers; they won’t last long before fading, falling and giving way to the green bloom so I wanted to somehow capture the beauty of it right now. I decided to make it a photography project and since I wanted to include fashion I turned to my wardrobe and my space, utilizing some of my decorative mannequins along with my favorite spring trends: sheers, colorblocking, neutrals and a bit of statement jewelry.

Thanks to Kristy for hosting this event; you can see all the wonderful entries at Full Time Fabulous. I took quite a lot of pictures so I decided to upload the full set with outtakes to The Girl Who Stole the Eiffel Tower on Facebook; you can view the full album here. Happy spring!

Such an awesome use of colour!! So creative and that tree! I can see why you wanted to use it in this post. STTUUUNNINIINGGGGGG
Thank you so much! I’m definitely glad I was able to use the tree and share how pretty it is with everyone.
oh I loved your pictures so much!! first I saw yor photo album and I liked the fac that you used the tree! I totally love blossomed trees! And I like very much the nude dress with the black lace (or embroidery or whatever it is)
Thanks, Anna! I was so excited when the tree bloomed, I’ve never had a blossom tree in my yard before. And the nude dress is by Rodarte for Target which just got a few months ago. Love it! (:
Love this photoshoot outside. That tree is beautiful, lovely blossom really does remind you of spring
Good idea showing off your clothes outside!
Thank you, Victoria! I’m so fortunate the tree was there and that the blossoms lasted long enough for this event. (:
Casee! This is GORGEOUS. I love what you’ve done here, so creative and inspiring! That tree is so pretty, I wish I had one like that in my yard… kind of makes me wish I had an outdoor wardrobe…. I can honestly say Ive never thought that before! well done girl, tis fab!
Thank you so much, Jessica! I really tried to think outside of the box with it and even as I was preparing it I didn’t know quite what the point was. Haha. It would be so fun to have an outdoor wardrobe (until it rains?) and I just love the idea of fashion and nature coming together. So glad you enjoyed the post, dear!
Love the pictures!!! You have such a vision … love the Spring interpretation via your outfits and nature!!!

Thank you very much, Sweet. I’m glad you enjoyed the post; it was a lot of fun and really made me notice the season. I’m sure your post was wonderful, I’m off to check it out right now! I know you’ve been busy so I’m glad you were able to take part. (:
Wow! This is so so so creative! I love this! The clothes are perfect for spring and hanging them on the crab apple was super clever. Can I say I love this again??
<3
Thank you so much, Ashley! Your comment made my day. I’m definitely glad I had the tree to work with – it added so much!
I love the pink and black outfit. Adore the purse. And LOVE the hat.
Thanks, Juju! That’s my favorite, too. And the hat is just absolute necessary!
These are beautiful!!! That tree is the perfect backdrop for those awesome pieces! Feel very inspired!
Thanks, MJ! I’m so glad it was inspiring. The tree definitely inspired me, too. Nature can be quite gorgeous in the spring!
This is an awesome way to present outfits! Very springy and a nice change. The colors are very bright and pretty against the blosoms in the tree!
xoxo

Thank you, dear! I hardly ever wear color so my wardrobe doesn’t exactly call to mind spring right away; I’m glad I was able to find a few things, and of course the tree was a huge help!
Beautiful, I love your interpretation of the FTF blog event! It looks so pretty with the outfits hanging from the tree. Love those floral shoes!
Thanks so much! I’m glad you like the shoe, I almost didn’t use them! I realized I didn’t have any in the picture so they were the first ones I grabbed. (:
this is great! what a fantastic idea. did any neighbors pass by? not something you see every day.
Thanks, Meredith! No neighbors, but I wouldn’t be surprised if a few of them saw me out the window or something. I’m sure I was a sight: the tall mannequin with the sheer maxi skirt, I discovered, topples over with a gentle breeze so I stood it up behind the bench, went back into the house to get the rest of my things and when I came back out it was gone. I stood there for a few moments with one of those embarrassing …Hey, where’d it go? looks on my face before I realized it had fallen over. I haven’t met any of my neighbors yet but I’m sure when I do I’ll get a curious “So…what do you do?”.
Casee, you’re such creative and professional in everything you do! Seriously! The colors in these photos are so vibrant and beautiful and I love the idea of placing and hanging everything from the tree. You did such a great job with this theme!
Thank you so much, Jen! I Photoshopped the pictures a bit for the contrast (I just use a point-and-shoot camera) so I worried they might be a bit over-saturated. I just really wanted the colors to make a statement, and the blossoms on the tree are really starting to fade so I tried to give them a bit more life. (:
What a beautiful backyard! I love the outfits you put together. This whole post is so creative and lovely
Thanks so much! I tried very hard to go outside of my creative realm so it was a lot of fun, really!
Casee, I agree springing change and new beginnings!
You have such a beautiful yard, I can see you wearing these, I especially love the cobalt with the chartreuse cardigan! This backyard would be my playground of sorts for every photo shoot! haha!
Thank you for the beautiful comment you left on my blog. -xxoo
Happy Friday dear!
Thanks so much, Madison! It was fun to put them together – I actually haven’t worn any of these particular ensembles yet so now I’m rather excited to take them out for a real spin. It was a great opportunity to explore my own creativity and see what happened. (:
Darling friend, I absolutely ADORE this post! So fresh, so creative, so inspiring, so beautiful. I love how you present the wonderful outfits, just amazing. And such a lovely picture of your stunning self too. Happy spring my dear! Love you lots xxxxxxx
Thank you so much, my dear Anika! I really had so much fun going outside of my comfort zone with this one, it was a great experience. And as a bonus I’m glad I had the chance to take pictures of the tree so I can remember it’s beauty until next year!
SHUT THE FRONT DOOR!!!! What a creative way to attack the challenge. Beautiful job. Really really love the imagery.
Ha! Thank you so much, doll. I had a lot of fun with it!
What a BEAUTIFUL post, Casee Marie! I can definitely feel the spring in your step. And love the saturated colors of the clothes. Wishing you a very happy weekend! muah! -Bella Q
Thank you ever so much, lovely Bella! So glad you enjoyed the post, and a big muah right back to you. Enjoy your weekend!
Love the outfits! That tree is so gorgeous! Wish I had one outside my window!
Thank you! I’m used to living in busy suburban towns so the tree was a delightful little surprise, for sure.
Lovely use of color and incorporating spring! And your right very soon it’s going to be muggy and hot and just plain miserable here (I hate summer).
Thanks! Funnily enough, the day after I did this post all the flowers wilted and died and as of today they’re all gone (and it’s certainly muggy). I’m definitely not a summer fan either!
I love this idea! That’s a gorgeous tree. And I have that Rodarte for Target dress! hehe
Thanks! I love the Rodarte for Target dress, it’s so charming. Definitely one of my favorites to come out of the Go International campaign!
OH MY GOD!!! I have no words. The outfits are so nice. omg omg omg I love the colors. Everything is so adorable and stylish.
And the tree was a perfect place for them.
And also the quality of the pictures is amazing.
Hugs
Thank you so much! I’m glad the pictures turned out well, I don’t use a DSLR or anything so I wasn’t sure how they’d look. It was a lot of fun to try!
I loved how you styled these outfits right on the tree! That was so creative! I would have never thought that….haha. All the colors look great with the blooming tree. Love the top in the 5th picture!
Thanks, Heidi! I didn’t come up with the idea until just a day or so before the event – and rarely do things like this actually work out the way they do in my head so I’m glad I was able to make it happen! Haha.
Casee this is brilliant! And as a blogger who hates being in front of the camera, it’s amazing inspirations for being able to shoot outfits. My parents have a crab apple tree in their back yard, and it was always my favorite. You did such an incredible job with this post. Great work lady!
Thanks so much, Marissa! That was actually one of my main motivations to come up with the idea; I’ve been feeling particularly camera-shy lately so I wanted to do something not involving pictures of myself, and yet I wanted to incorporate fashion. Luckily it all came together and worked out!
Cool photo project! Your tree is gorgeous. If you end up reading that book, let me know how it is. I already have a pile to get through, but that one sounded good. And the cover really was screaming ‘spring’.

Sprinkles in Springs
Thanks so much! And I’ll certainly let you know if I read it. I know the feeling of having an impossible pile; my to-read list is out of control!
WHY IS THIS SO BEAUTIFUL?
/rhetorical question
WHY ARE YOU SO AWESOME?
Also rhetorical. x
I don’t think there’s ever been a better backdrop than that gorgeous tree!
It was just screaming to be captured in some way; I’m glad I had the chance, now all the flowers are dead and wilted already!
Oh, Casee, your pictorial made me smile! What creativity! And such beautiful pictures. The care you put into it is evident. The result? Stunning!

The House in the Clouds
Thank you so much, Fabienne! I’m glad everyone enjoyed it – and it was a lot of fun to adventure outside my creative sphere and make it happen.
such a creative and gorgeous idea! i think this turned out awesome. i love that you tried something completely different and with such a great payoff. love it!!
Thanks, Kristy! It was so much fun, and I felt quite accomplished in the end… I’ve always been someone who wanted to be artistic but could never seem to do things “right” so a project like this would normally come halfway to fruition before I quit. I felt like it was a big step for me, in a way. And I never would have tried it if not for the blog event!
oh i love how you put your clothes in the trees–you really do have spring where you live…such a fantastic FTF post.
oh, and i have that same Rodarte dress!
Thanks, Cheryl! All our trees are slowly starting to pop, but this one was definitely ahead of the others. And gotta love the dress – it’s too cute!
How stunning! The outfits go perfectly with the beautiful blossom on the tree. It’s so great you have Blogger meet-ups. These seem to happen much more in America. Bit of a long way to go for me
!!
Thanks so much! I hadn’t expected the colors to work so well together, but I’m glad it did. (:
Oh, I LOVE how you did this!! That tree is gorgeous and the way you incorporated the garments is just fabulous!! Lime & Cobalt is HOT!!!
Thank you! I hadn’t even thought to pair the two until the last minute – I actually bought a pink cardi to go with the cobalt (colorblocking, dontcha know) but realized since I already had the sheer pink I should use a different color… So I just threw the lime on with it. Funny, now I have a whole new look to wear!
This is AMAZING. I love the route you decided to take with this blog event. I would never have thought to make a photography studio out of my own back yard, but you did it beautifully here.
The outfits you put together capture the essence of Spring so well (I want to see OOTD posts for each, please!), and I am seriously coveting your mannequins. Can you believe I don’t own ANY? I need a mannequin stat.
The colors in this post are just amazing – that crab apple tree is so vibrant, I wish they stayed that way longer. But alas, green blossoms will arrive all too soon!
Thank you! It seemed like such a crazy idea when I first thought of it, but I’m glad it worked out. I’m actually kind of proud of the result – usually anything creative off of the computer doesn’t turn out so well for me.
You definitely need some mannequins! I’m pretty sure both of these came from a TJ Maxx HomeGoods store. They’re fun for decorating, and then one day I threw a scarf across the tallest. I never really thought about dressing them up for this, but it was cool. A fun way to play around in your closet to come up with new outfits, maybe.
The flowers are already dead and wilted – they actually lost their luster the day after the post, so I got the pictures just in time. It’s a shame, but I’m glad I have this to document it!
Lovely presentation, Casee Marie, and wow…what a gorgeous tree! All that pink…so lovely.
Happy Spring!
Thank you so much, V! I’m crazy about that tree – or I was, but now the color’s gone from it, unfortunately.
Love that bright blue with apple green! Great color combo.
Thanks so much, Wendy!
